Boyd Watterson Through the Years

Boyd Watterson is an asset management firm with a long history of providing moderate, stable income solutions to our clients. We’ve been growing rapidly as we’ve taken our historical emphasis in fixed income and been able to apply that to another asset class that has been a driver of growth for us, and that is real estate.

    Employees purchased the Cleveland operations and returned to the company’s roots with the name Boyd Watterson Asset Management, LLC

  • Mercantile Bankshares Co. Acquired Boyd Watterson

    Mercantile Bankshares Corporation acquired Boyd Watterson to complement its institutional fixed income product offerings

  • Boyd’s Employees Purchased Cleveland Operations

    PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. purchased the interests of Mercantile Bankshares Corporation. Seven months later, Boyd Watterson employees purchased the Cleveland operations and advisory services from PNC

  • Titanium Acquired Boyd Watterson

    Boyd Watterson is acquired by Titanium Asset Management Corporation, adding the Chicago Real Estate Advisory Group to the company

  • BWAM Became Privately Held / First Real Estate Fund Launched

    BWAM Management led the acquisition of all publicly held stock and became a privately held company again and launched its first open-ended strategy real estate fund

  • First mutual fund launched

    Boyd Watterson launched its first mutual fund: Limited Duration Enhanced Income Fund

  • Michigan office opened

    Boyd Watterson opened its Bloomfield Hills, Michigan office

  • Second Real Estate Fund Launched / Headquarters Relocated

    Boyd Watterson launched a second open-ended strategy real estate fund and moved its headquarters up East 9th Street in Cleveland to the Erieview Tower

  • Washington, D.C. Office Opened / First Closed-End Program Launched

    Boyd Watterson opened its Washington, D.C. office and launched a closed-end strategy real estate program created for a private bank with international investors 

  • Second Closed-End Real Estate Program Launched

    Boyd Watterson launched a second closed-end strategy real estate program created for a private bank with international investors

  • Colorado Office Opened / First Open-End REIT

    Boyd Watterson opened its Denver, Colorado office and launched an open-end strategy real estate REIT
